We always looked forward to Halloween growing up. Along with carving pumpkins and mom making all of our costumes, we most of all looked forward to the ward Halloween party. We got so excited about the hanging donut games, the fishing game, and other games as well as all the candy and prizes we got. After the Halloween party, we would come home and each of us would dump out our bags of candy, and sort them and see how lucky we were to each have such a big stash of candy.
I also have memories of trick-or-treating to our neighbors homes. Mom would drive us over to the Robbins, Hinkles, Heikens, and Grammy and Grandma and Papa's house. Usually, these neighbors loved to see our costumes and would have a little goody bag with our name on it. They usually knew who to expect for trick or treating.
One of my most memorable costumes was when Mom made me big butterfly wings. I thought they were absolutely perfect.
